Cultural summer at Castle Wolkenberg

Experience culture in a unique setting
In the heart of Zwickau's Mulden Valley stands the historic Wolkenburg Castle – a former medieval castle that was transformed into a magnificent Renaissance and Baroque palace under the von Einsiedel family. In 1790, Count Detlev Carl von Einsiedel gave the castle its current neoclassical appearance. The ornate stucco reliefs in the ballroom and the magnificent, two-story library in the attic, reminiscent of Venetian palazzi, are still impressive today. Today, the romantic castle belongs to the town of Limbach-Oberfrohna and offers a dreamlike backdrop for events of all kinds.
With the Cultural Summer at Wolkenburg Castle, this special atmosphere is brought to life again! Visitors have the opportunity to tour the impressive New Church before the events begin. The box office and the restaurant, offering a selection of food and drinks, will open upon admission. The cultural program then begins in the comfortably furnished castle courtyard, immersing visitors of all ages in a special world.
The event promises a unique flair that will radiate far beyond the region. The impressive backdrop of the castle and courtyard blends into a holistic experience that visitors will remember. The goal is to further establish the castle as a vibrant cultural center and to host even more events at this historic site.
The positive response to previous events – especially to the Cultural Summer – confirms that Wolkenburg Castle is evolving into a new splendor thanks to its cultural use. FZLO Freizeitstätten GmbH will therefore continue to support this event, which is so important for the region, and establish the Cultural Summer as a permanent fixture in the events calendar.
