Der Traumzauberbaum und Mimmelitt

A family musical by Monika Ehrhardt and Reinhard Lakomy

Today, the Dream Magic Tree has grown the dream leaf for the children with the story of Mimmelitt, the town rabbit. Together with Moosmutzel, the forest ghost girl, Mimmelitt sings the dream song. As soon as the two of them have greeted the sun with the morning grouchy morning sport, the big, fat tomcat Leopold arrives. He doesn't want to be alone tonight, because a squeaky secret is on its way! An iron ghost! He has heard terrible shuddering sounds. Pff, Mimmelitt catches the secret with his left hand, yes! But the magic dream tree and the children have to help. Then the time has come: in the middle of the starry night, the terrible squeaking is getting closer and closer. After a great fright, it turns out that the squeaking secret is Knight Adelbert, a very old, rusty weathercock.
He wants nothing more than a bit of lubricating oil, paint and a roof, alas! An adventurous rescue operation begins. Will Mimmelitt and the friends of the Dream Magic Tree join forces to make Adelbert's dream come true? A poetic and comical story about how not everything that is old should be thrown away.

Together with Monika Ehrhardt, Reinhard Lakomy developed a new genre of children's entertainment in 1978 - story songs. This enchanting mixture of radio play, rock ballad and children's song has resulted in a total of fifteen radio play stories to date (including “Der Regentropfen Paule Platsch”, “Der Traumzauberbaum”, “Das Blaue Ypsilon”). For over 40 years now, these have shaped generations of children and have made the TRAUMZAUBERBAUM a real success story with 5 million records sold to date. The story songs were staged as interactive children's participatory theater. With the REINHARD
LAKOMY ensemble, the popular stories can be experienced live and have been successfully presented in various shows on German-speaking stages for years.
